The text on the painting reads: When justice is gone there is always force

The quote(s) for this work:

I’m for truth, no matter who tells it. I’m for justice, no matter who it is for or against. I’m a human being first and foremost, and as such I’m for whoever and whatever benefits humanity as a whole.  Malcolm X (1925 – 1965)

And

I’ll tell you what justice is. Justice is a knee in the gut from the floor on the chin at night sneaky with a knife brought up down on the magazine of a battleship sandbagged underhanded in the dark without a word of warning.

 ~Joseph Heller (1923 – ) Source: Catch 22

New work, on a Puckered and burned skin of canvas. Once force is used, justice is lost. De-humanize the masses and all that is left is Revolution. Class wars. Separation. Those that Have and those who Have lost it all. Push will come to shove, and Mothers will grieve the losses of innocent children. Fathers will die in vain. Now is the time for healing and truth.

Now is the time of change.

We are all one, under the skin we wear, the Gods we pray to, the countries flags we live under or with, & who we love. We all are blood and bones. We are souls that have bodies, not bodies that house souls.

Heather *a not so secret agent of change*

Thank you jafa, it’s been a really rough week. I appreciate your kind words, this isn’t one of my best works, but I felt compelled to share my state of mind and being anyway. I can’t keep it inside, and if I don’t let it out, I am afraid my head may really burst from the pressure.

Ahhh this is gorgeous…the rawness of the color…sinew, bone & blood perfect.

Looking at it immediately and spontaneously brought to mind one of my favorite quotes of all time:

“There comes a time when the operation of the machine is so odious that you cannot even tacitly participate, You’ve got to place your bodies on the gears, the wheels, all the mechanisms. And you’ve got to indicate to those who own it and those who run it, that unless you are free, the machine will be prevented from working at all.”

The quote is from Utah Phillips, one of the last of the great old revolutionaries of his generation who fought the good fight.

Thanks for sharing this gorgeous work….and thanks for you!!!!
