Here is (the part of) a poem that inspired the work:

“What dreams we have and how they fly

Like rosy clouds across the sky;

I worked on this painting for many weeks…a little at a time. It’s self-portrait, a mirror and an explanation of my observations of self awareness. It’s a visual poem.
